Provincial politics in the Philippines are anything but straightforward.
In the small provincial town of Sagada, Richard Yodong runs for Deputy-Mayor. His honest approach to politics sets him apart from other politicians in town. With the camera always close by, Richard lives through election times dominated by the battling of two formerly cooperating politicians over the most powerful and lucrative position in town.
Their race for mayor gives an insight into how politics works in the provinces, the lasting impact it has on the local people and why having a wedding suddenly becomes overly popular during election times.
